What training resources does Instructure provide their clients?
Instructure is working hard to provide clients with materials that will make it even easier to train Instructors, LMS Admins, and Students on the basics of Canvas. Suggestions for improving or adding to these materials are always welcome.
Canvas Instructor Orientation (CNVS 099)
Canvas Instructor Orientation is a public video course designed to help instructors quickly learn Canvas basics. Trainers can link to this course or import its contents into their own instance of Canvas (download course export here). Clients are welcome to use all or part of the module in their local training courses. In some cases, trainers might find it helpful to place this module near the top of a shared faculty course, so that faculty can have easy access to the materials. Canvas Student Orientation (CNVS 100)
Canvas Student Orientation is a public video course designed to help students learn how to use Canvas effectively. Instructors can link to this course or import its contents into their own courses (download course export here). Clients are welcome to use all or part of the module in their local training initiatives. In some cases, Instructors might find it helpful to place this module near the top of their Modules page during the first few weeks of class. We welcome your feedback on this course. Getting Started with Canvas (CNVS 101)
Getting Started with Canvas is an open-enrollment class that walks new users through the basics of setting up a new course in Canvas (download course export here). There is no formal facilitator, but enrolled students are encouraged to create or join a study group. Colleagues from the same institution may wish to share their discoveries as they build their first course in Canvas. To enroll, simply click on the "Join this course" button on the Course Home Page. Canvas Admin Overview (ADMN 101)
Canvas Admin Overview is a public course that walks new users through the basics of configuring the administrative settings in Canvas. This is a self-paced course that uses modules to teach you how to how to manage users, sub-accounts (domains), courses, and enrollments. Participants will learn how to organize courses, manage users and permissions, and create shared content that can be used by teachers. We welcome your feedback on this course. Canvas Support Overview (ADMN 099)
Canvas Support Overview is a public course that introduces new Canvas users to the available support resources. This is a self-paced course that uses modules to teach local support personnel how to troubleshoot and support end users.
