How do I set a different Calendar event date for each section in my course?
Canvas recently introduced a new page design called the New Canvas User Interface (UI). This lesson may include two images for specific steps to show the difference between the two designs. Unless otherwise indicated, the functionality and location of the components remain the same. The view available to you is determined by your institution.
This lesson will help you use different Calendar event dates for each section you have in your course.
Note: You need to add sections to your course before you can set a different date for an event for each section.
Click any date on the calendar  to add an event; click the arrows next to the month name to navigate to a different month .
If you don't want to manually locate the date, you can click the Add icon  to add an event or assignment to the calendar.
Add Event Details
Enter a title for the event . The date will already be entered, but you can change it if you like . Specify the start and end time for your event . Enter a location for the event . Make sure that the correct course is selected in the Calendar drop down . Click the More Options button .
Set a Different Calendar Event Date for Each Section
Select the Use a different date for each section checkbox . You can choose the date and time for each section separately. If you don't want one section to see the event, leave the date and time fields blank . When you are finished, click Create Event  to save changes.
Note: When editing an existing event, the Create Event button will read Update Event.
View Calendar Events
The events will show up in the Calendar. Each section will have a separate Calendar event.
