How do I submit an assignment on behalf of a group?

A group assignment is a way to for instructors to allow students to work together on an assignment and submit it as a group. Only one group member needs to submit the assignment on behalf of the group.

Any attachments added as part of a graded assignment submission are uploaded into your group files but are not counted against the group quota. However, once the file has been uploaded as a submission, you cannot delete the file.

The Group Assignment will outline what the group needs to do in order to complete the assignment. The instructor will put you in groups to work on the assignment.

In Course Navigation, click the Assignments link.

Click the name of the assignment.

Click the Submit Assignment button.

Upload your assignment file [1].

To submit an already uploaded file [2], you will need to move the file from the group folder to the My Files folder.

To move a file, open your user Files.

Find the group folder with the assignment file. Click the name of the assignment file and drag the file to the My Files folder. Once you see the folder highlighted, release your mouse. The file will now be in the My Files folder.

To submit the assignment, click the Click here to find a file you've already uploaded link [1]. Click the expand arrow next to the my files folder to view the files you have uploaded. Click the assignment file name [3].

Click the Submit Assignment button.

Once you submit the assignment, you can see that you turned it in. You can re-submit the assignment until the due date and time.
