How do I add the Impact Support Center to the Canvas Help menu?

This article describes how to launch the Impact Support Center from the Help Menu in Canvas instead of with the default Support Button (located on the bottom-right of the page).

There are 2 positions in the Help menu of Canvas to launch the Impact Support Center. You can launch from the Help menu directly (see option 1) or through a custom link in the Help submenu (see option 2).

1. Launching from the Canvas Help Menu button

1. Launching from the Canvas Help Menu button

The following JS script needs to be injected in the Root of the system

$('#global_nav_help_link').unbind();

$(document).on('click', "#global_nav_help_link", function(event) {

window.dispatchEvent(new Event('eesy_launchSupportTab'));

event.preventDefault();

}

);

To disable the default Support Button, you will need to set the “supportTab:” Boolean to “FALSE” within the original script.

If the Boolean is set to false and the default Support tab is still visible, then please raise a ticket with our Support Team.

2. Launching from the Canvas Help submenu with a custom link

The following JS script needs to be injected in the Root of the system:

$(document).on('click', "#help_tray a:contains('LinkName')", function(event) {

window.dispatchEvent(new Event('eesy_launchSupportTab'));

event.preventDefault();

}

);

Note: The Link name defined in step 2 should have the exact same name as the ‘LinkName’ in the script above.

Then add a new custom link in the Canvas Help menu. Again, please ensure that the Link name is identical as to the one in the script.

2. Launching from the Canvas Help submenu with a custom link

<Add the link to Canvas Help Guidesand click <Add link>

Once link has been added, be sure to save changes by clicking the Update Settings button at the bottom of the page.
