How do I view and manage data streams in my account?
If you have installed Canvas Data Services in your account, you can add and manage data streams in your account.
- Users must have the Data Services - manage permission to access Canvas Data Services.
- Accounts must have an Amazon Web Services' Simple Queue Service URL to receive data streams.
- Canvas Data streams may include personal information for Canvas users. You should only stream data to trusted services and endpoints..
In Global Navigation, click the Admin link , then click the name of the account .
Open Data Services
In Account Navigation, click the Data Services link.
View Data Streaming Options
View your current data streams. The Data Streaming Options table displays the name  and status  of your streams. Inactive streams display the Inactive status label . Active streams do not display a label.
Add Data Stream
To add a new data stream, click the Add button.
Configure Data Stream
Enter a title for your stream in the Name/Title field . Then enter your AWS SQS endpoint URL in the URL field .
If you want to require authentication, select the AWS Credentials in the Authentication field . If authentication is not required, this field can be set to the None option.
If AWS credentials are required, enter the AWS key , AWS secret , and AWS region .
Select the event format in Message Type field . Message type can be set to Canvas or Caliper 1.1.
- The Delivery Method field can only be set to the SQS option.
- The Application Type field can only be set to the Data Streaming option.
Select the subscriptions you want to include in your data stream.
To select an individual subscription, click the Arrow icon for the subscription group  and click the checkbox for the subscription you want to add .
To subscribe to all items in a group, click the checkbox for the group . To select all available subscriptions, click the Subscriptions checkbox .
Note: The image in this step shows subscription options for the Canvas message type. The options for the Caliper 1.1 message types are different, but the steps to subscribe are the same.
Save Data Stream
To save your data stream, click the Save & Exit button.
Manage Data Stream Options
To manage options for a data stream, click the stream's Options icon . To edit the stream, click the Edit link . To duplicate the stream, click the Duplicate link . To deactivate the stream, click the Deactivate link .
Note: Inactive subscriptions are only displayed for 90 days.
Reactivate Data Stream
To reactivate a deactivated stream, click the Reactivate link.
