How do I edit the details for a course section as an admin?
You can easily edit details for each section in your course. As part of editing details, you may need to create start and end dates for your section. Dates can be shorter than the course dates or overlap the section dates. Changing the section dates creates an override for the section dates, and students can only access the section during the specified section dates.
Note: Sections may be added by your institution's student information system (SIS).
In Global Navigation, click the Admin link , then click the name of the account .
In Course Navigation, click the Courses link.
Note: When you open an account, the account defaults to the Courses page.
Use the filter and search options to find the course in the account.
In the search results, click the Settings link for the course.
Click the Sections tab.
To edit details for a section, click the name of the section .
Note: If you only want to change the name of the section, you can click the Edit icon .
In the sidebar, click the Edit Section button.
In the Section Name field , create a name for the section.
If you have permission to view the SIS ID field , add an SIS ID or edit an existing ID.
Create a start date for the section by clicking the Starts calendar icon . Create an end date for the section by clicking the Ends calendar icon .
If you want the section participation dates to override the course dates, select the Users can only participate in the course between these dates checkbox . Any user added to the section won't be able to participate in the course until the section start date.
Click the Update Section button .
Note: Unlike when changing course dates, currently the User Participation checkbox in sections enables the override for the section.
