    How do I get a public link or embed code for media in Canvas Studio?

    Each video and audio file includes an embed code and public link that you can use for showing media in public websites. Located in the Sharing options for a video or audio file, public links and embed codes do not include comments. Additionally, public links and embed codes are not authenticated so they cannot track viewer data in Arc.

    This lesson shows you how to get a link or embed code directly from the My Collection page. However, when you own a medie file or a user has shared a media file with you, the link and code are also available when viewing media.

    Notes:

    • Viewing public links and embed codes is an account permission. If you are not able to view the Links tab, your institution has restricted this feature to all users except Arc admins.
    • If you want to include comments when embedding media, you need to embed through the Arc LTI tool. Learn how to embed media in Canvas.

    How do I upload a document in the Rich Content Editor as an instructor?

    You can use the auto-open inline preview for files in the Rich Content Editor. Canvas can preview any file that is supported by the document previewer. The Rich Content Editor is used in features that support the editor (Announcements, Assignments, Discussions, Pages, Quizzes, or Syllabus).

    Notes:

    • You can have multiple files auto-open, but you have to go through the steps in this lesson every time you want to add another auto-open file preview in a feature that uses the Rich Content Editor.
    • In Pages and the Syllabus, the Content Selector sidebar includes visual style updates and content section pagination. However, the overall functionality of the Content Selector throughout Canvas is the same.

    How do I manage themes for an account?

    Each Canvas account displays a default Canvas theme. As an admin, you can create and manage themes designed specifically for your institution.

    Custom branding is hosted at the account level, and by default, sub-accounts and their associated courses inherit account branding. However, you can enable sub-accounts to use the Theme Editor; any elements that are not specifically changed will still be inherited by the account level.

    Note: If you are a sub-account admin and the Themes link is not visible in Account Navigation, Themes has not been enabled for sub-accounts.
