How do I publish grades to Banner?

This lesson describes how to publish grades from a course in Canvas to the Student Information System (SIS).  In this example we are publishing grades to Banner.

To set up SIS Publishing for your institution, please contact your Implementation Consultant or Customer Success Manager for additional information.

Enable Grading Scheme

A course grading scheme must be enabled to publish letter grades. Under Course Settings [1], verify you have an enabled course grading scheme [2].

Verify Grades to be Published

Ensure letter grades are correct in the Gradebook Total column.

Publish grades to SIS

Publish grades to SIS

Click the Settings icon [1] and select the Publish grades to SIS link [2].

Open Grade Publishing Tab

Return to Course Settings and click the Grade Publishing Tab [1]. Then click the Publish grades to SIS button [2].

Confirm Publishing

Confirm that you want to publish the grades by clicking the OK button.

Check the Banner interface

Check the Banner interface

Check the Banner interface to ensure that grades were properly populated in Banner.

Note: Grades can be re-published with new grade values to Banner until the grades are rolled.
