How do I leave feedback for my students in SpeedGrader?
Canvas recently introduced a new page design called the New Canvas User Interface (UI). Depending on your Canvas view, your page design may vary from the images shown in this lesson. However, the functionality and location of the components remain the same.
You can leave feedback for your students using text, an attached file, video, or audio.

View Unsaved Changes Warning
If you navigate away from a SpeedGrader page before submitting your comment(s), Canvas generates a message warning that you have unsaved comments on the page.
Note: This feature only applies to leaving the SpeedGrader page; it does not apply to the comment field for each student submission. If you create a comment for a student but do not submit it before viewing another student submission, SpeedGrader retains the comment in the comment field for the second student—and any student—until the Submit Comment button is clicked and the comment is officially submitted as part of a student’s submission.
Comments will be organized chronologically with the older comments appearing near the top and the newer comments appearing at the bottom .
Note: Depending on the size of your browser window, comments within the SpeedGrader Discussion box may appear to be limited. You can use the scrollbar within the Discussion box to view additional or longer comments.
If your students submitted a writing assignment and you want to leave comments in the document, learn how to use Crocodoc in SpeedGrader.
