How do I subscribe to the Calendar Feed using Google Calendar?
Canvas recently introduced a new page design called the New Canvas User Interface (UI). This lesson may include two images for specific steps to show the difference between the two designs. Unless otherwise indicated, the functionality and location of the components remain the same. The view available to you is determined by your institution.
You can import your Canvas calendar to Google Calendar.
The steps in this lesson are also relevant for those using Gmail via Google Apps for Education. Google Apps for Education provides an Institution Email Account to those institutions participating in the program. To learn more, visit the website.
Note: Google Calendar periodically updates and syncs approximately every 24 hours. Updates from the Canvas Calendar may not be immediately visible on the Google Calendar.
Copy Calendar Feed Link
Once you click the Calendar Feed link, copy the iCal link.
Note: iCal links will also work with any calendar that accepts iCal feeds such as iCal, Outlook, and Yahoo Calendar.
Log in to Google Account
Once you click the Calendar link, you will view your Calendar.
Add Calendar by URL
View Subscribed Calendar Feed
The Canvas Calendar will now show up in your Institution Email Account Calendar, and you can even click the event and it will give you all the details of that event. Any updates to the Canvas calendar will automatically be updated in your Google Calendar.
Note: Google Calendar periodically updates and syncs approximately every 24 hours. Because of this, updates from the Canvas Calendar may not be immediately visible on the Google Calendar.
