How do I send a message from the Inbox in the Teacher app on my iOS device?
You can send conversation messages to students or other users in your courses in the app.
The images in this lesson are shown for a phone display, but unless otherwise noted, tablet displays mirror the same steps.
In the Dashboard, tap the Inbox icon.
Tap the Add icon.
Tap the Select a course link  and select the course where you want to send the message .
In the To field, tap the Add icon.
Note: You can only add one user or group of users at a time.
Search by Name
To search by name, type the name of your recipient in the text field.
Note: If you cannot remember a recipient's name, you can search by course filter to select your recipient.
When the full name of the recipient appears, tap the name.

To search by course filter, select to message all users , or select users by group .
Select User Group
To select a user group, tap the recipient's user group .
Tap the name of the recipient . You can select all members in a specific user group by tapping the All Members option .
If you need to remove a recipient, tap the remove icon.
To attach a file to the message, tap the Attach icon.
To select your attachment file, tap the Add icon . Then select how you would like to attach a file .
Once you have added your attachment, it can be viewed on the Attachments page . To delete your attachment, tap the Delete icon .
To add another attachment, tap the Add icon . To return to your message, tap the Done link .
In the Subject field , enter a subject for your message.
If you want to send individual messages to each recipient, tap the message toggle .
In the compose field , type your message.
When you are ready to send your message, tap the Send link .
Note: New messages will not appear in the Inbox on the Canvas app until there is a reply to the message. However, if you have an existing Inbox message with a recipient, the message will appear as part of that message thread.
