How do I view the Instructure Guides?

The guides in the Instructure Community provide simple, yet comprehensive instruction for all Instructure software products. These guides are a free resource that can be accessed without logging into the Community.

Instructure Guides are created, organized, and maintained by the Instructure Community Team.

You can view guides for Instructure products in the Instructure Community. You can use the Community's top navigation menu and/or the Community's search field to locate guides.

To access guides for all Instructure products, in the Navigation menu, click the All Guides tab [1]. The page will display all products and their associated guides and categories.

Each tile displays that product's available guides and documentation. Because products offer different resources, the listed tiles may vary. You may see popular guides, role-based guides, language or video guides, troubleshooting resources, or guides organized by feature area or use case.

Note: Selecting a tile redirects you to the first listed guide in that category.

To search for a guide's category, enter your terms in the Search field [1]. Then click the tile in the search results [2].

Selecting a category or subcategory opens the first guide listed in that category [1].

To hide the categories section, click the Hide Categories button [2].

View Guide

Each guide displays other related guides and categories. To go to other categories, click the available guide names on the list [1].

To follow a guide for updates, click the Follow button [2].

To move to a specific section in the guide, click a section link in the Table of Contents [3].

To change the language, click the Language drop-down menu [4].

To embed a guide, click the Copy article embed code button [5].

To give quick feedback, click the Yes or No buttons [6].

If you need more help, click the Ask a Question button [7] to post a question in a community board.

Note: Embedding is only supported in Canvas courses. Embedding on other sites is not supported.

You can also find Instructure product guides by using the search field in the Instructure home page [1].

To search for a lesson, enter your terms in the Search field [2]. Then click the name of the lesson in the search results [3].
