How do I create a discussion in an interest group in the Instructure Community?
Creating a topic or discussion is a great way to introduce new thoughts to the Instructure Community and generate conversations.
Note: This feature may not be enabled in certain areas of the Instructure Community.
Create New Post
Click the New Post button.
You can choose to create a new discussion [1] or idea [2], ask a question [3], or a new event [4].
Note: If you selected New Discussion [1], New Idea [2], or Ask a Question [3], you can switch to any of the three once you begin drafting your post.

To select a category, click the Category drop-down menu [1].
To select between Discussion, Idea, or Question, click the Post Type drop-down menu [2].
To add a title, edit the Discussion Title field [3].
To add text, edit the Body field [4].
To add a header, bulleted or numbered list, quote, code block, spoilers and callouts, click the Element Toolbar icon [5].
To add emojis, click the Emoji Picker icon [6].
To add an image, click the Image icon [7].
To paste the URL of the media you want, click the Insert Media icon [8].
To attach a file, click the Add Attachment icon [9].
To add a table, click the Insert Table icon [10]. You can add more rows and columns after you insert a table.
To add tags, click the Tags drop-down menu [11]. To automatically add popular tags, select the Add Popular Tag button [12].
To save your post as a draft, click Save as Draft [13].
To post your draft, click Post [14].
