What is the Canvas Student app?

The Canvas Student app allows students to access their courses and groups using a mobile device. Students can submit assignments, participate in discussions, view grades, and access course materials. The app also provides access to course calendars, To Do items, notifications, and Inbox messages.

Canvas Student requires a Canvas account and is available for both Android and iOS devices. Before downloading the Canvas Student app, you may want to review the Canvas mobile device requirements.

Notes:

  • Not all Canvas features are supported on the Canvas Student app at this time. For more details, refer to the Canvas Student Mobile Features resource document.
  • Depending on your institution, you may need to log in to additional apps to view certain course content (e.g., Google Drive).
  • Other mobile apps are available for parents/observers as well as instructors.
  • If you do not want to use the Canvas Student app or are not on a mobile device, you can use a browser to access Canvas through your institution's URL.
