How do I set up the Lucid Education Suite in my course?

If enabled by your institution, you can access the Lucid Education Suite apps Lucidchart and Lucidspark. Lucidchart is an intelligent diagramming application that allows you to visualize complex ideas, systems, and processes. Lucidspark is a virtual whiteboard application that enables teams to ideate, design, and build better ideas.

When using Lucid for the first time, you must confirm information about student age. You must also connect your Lucid account to your Canvas account before using Lucid in Canvas.

Notes for Students:

  • Once Lucid is set up, you can submit Lucid documents in assignments or embed Lucid documents. You may also be able to access Lucid by clicking the Lucid (Whiteboard) link in Course Navigation.
  • If you cannot access Lucid, it may not be enabled for your region or by your institution. Contact your instructor for more information.

Notes for Instructors:

  • Once Lucid is set up, you can create Lucid assignments; students can submit Lucid documents; you can embed Lucid documents; and Lucid (Whiteboard) displays as a link in Course Navigation.
  • If your Canvas instance is hosted in a non-US region, contact your Canvas admin to enable Lucid.
  • When testing the Lucid integration, authenticate or create your own account. You should not test the integration when masquerading as any other user.
