How do I download a file or folder?
In Files, you can download a file or folder from any file storage area in Canvas.
Learn how to locate your user files, course files, and group files.
Open Files
In Account, Group, or Course Navigation, click the Files link.
Download File
Click the line item for the file [1]. Click the Download icon [2]. Or click the Options icon [3] and then click the Download link [4].
Download Folder
Click the line item for the folder [1]. Click the Download icon [2]. Or click the Options icon [3] and then click the Download link [4].
View Download Progress
Monitor the progress of your download.
Open File
Folders download as ZIP files. Open the appropriate folder to view the ZIP file. To open the file, either double click to open it (MAC users) or right-click the file and select Extract All (PC users).
Single files download as individual files. Open the appropriate folder to view the file.
Note: Files and folders download to the location where your browser saves downloads, which may be the Downloads folder on your computer.
