What is IgniteAI Search for Courses?
This guide applies to institutions that have opted in to the Search for Courses feature option. If your user interface displays differently, the feature has not been enabled at your institution. To learn more about the feature option, ask questions, or comment on functionality, navigate to the IgniteAI Search for Courses user group.
Leveraging semantic algorithms and AI, IgniteAI Search allows users to search Canvas course content by understanding the context of queries and finding relevant results based on that context.
Admins can enable the Search for Courses setting at the account or sub-account level. This setting can also be locked for sub-accounts. If enabled and locked, Search for Courses is enabled in all courses in the account. If enabled and unlocked, teachers can manage the feature option from the course level.
To learn more about Feature Options, refer to the Canvas Feature Option Summary resource document.
