How do I delete an assignment submission as an admin?

As an admin, you can delete a student's assignment submission in SpeedGrader. This allows you to manage inappropriate submissions or submissions that otherwise need to be removed from a course.

Note: The option to delete assignment submissions is only available to admins that have been granted the Users - Act As permission.

Open Account

In Global Navigation, click the Admin link [1], then click the name of the account [2].

Open Course

To find the course in the account, you can use the course filters [1] or search options [2].

To open a course, click the name of the course you want to open [3].

Open Assignments

Open Assignments

In Course Navigation, click the Assignments link.

Open Assignment

Click the name of the assignment.

Open SpeedGrader

Click the SpeedGrader link.

Delete Submission

Find the submission file link [1]. Then click the Delete icon [2].

Confirm Deletion

Confirm Deletion

To confirm you want to delete the submission file, click the OK button.

View Deleted File

After the file is deleted, a message displays in SpeedGrader to inform instructors that the file was deleted [1].  The submission file is also replaced by File_Removed.pdf [2].
