How do I view and filter external apps (LTI) data for my institution in Canvas Apps?

As a Canvas root admin, you can view, filter, compare and understand which LTI apps are being used by whom, when, and how often.

Note: Only data for the most commonly used LTI apps is available for all Canvas Admins as part of this feature.

In Global Navigation, click the Admin link [1] and then click the name of the account [2].

In Account Navigation, click the Apps link.

In the Apps page, click the Monitor tab [1].

You can view the total launches [2], unique users [3], sub-accounts [4], courses [5], Top 5 Champions [6], and  a list of all installed apps [7]. To download a copy of the data, click the Export as CSV button [8].

To search for an app, enter the app name in the Search field [9].

To filter the data, click the Filter button [10].

You can filter data by app names [1], sub-accounts [2], courses [3], roles [4], LTI app version [5], time period [6], and date range [7].

To save filter options as a preset, click the Save as filter preset checkbox [8].

To view presets, click the Presets tab [9].

Click the Apply button [10].

Note: Selecting Term in the Time Period drop-down menu applies the filter to all data within the term's date range, not just to courses in that term.

To apply a preset filter, locate the filter preset and click the Apply button.

To view the filter details, click the Show Filter Details link [1].

To remove a filter, click the Delete icon [2].

To remove all filters, click the Reset Filters link [3].
