How do I align an outcome to a quiz question in New Quizzes?
You can align course-level and account-level outcomes to a quiz question in New Quizzes. Aligning an outcome allows you to measure student quiz performance using rating scales and mastery levels.
You can also align outcomes to a quiz.
- If you cannot see outcomes in New Quizzes, they have not been configured for your course. Contact your Canvas administrator for assistance.
- Outcomes scores from New Quizzes can only be viewed in the Outcomes Analysis report in New Quizzes. Outcomes scores cannot be viewed in the Learning Mastery Gradebook.
- Course outcomes cannot be added to quiz questions that already live in an item bank.
In Course Navigation, click the Quizzes link.
Note: You can also access quizzes from the Assignments page.
Open Build Page
To align an outcome to a quiz question, find the quiz you want to open .
To open New Quizzes from an existing quiz, click the Options icon  and then click the Build link .
To edit the question, click the Edit icon.
Note: You can also edit the question by clicking anywhere in the body of the question.
Align to Outcome
To align the question to an outcome, click anywhere in the Align to Outcomes section.
The Attached Outcomes page displays course-level outcomes. You can also view account-level outcomes if they have been added to the course.
To attach an outcome to your quiz question, browse outcomes using the Outcome Picker . You can also search outcomes by typing in the Search Outcomes field .
Click the checkbox next to the outcome you want to attach .
View a list of all selected outcomes . To remove a selected outcome, click the Remove icon  or deselect the outcome checkbox.
To apply your selected outcomes, click the Confirm Alignments button .
View your aligned outcome. To view outcome details, click the name of the outcome .
To remove the outcome from the question, click the Delete icon . To add another outcome, click the Add button .
